Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot - Product Description

The United Ortho air cam walking boot is designed to offer maximum stability and support after an injury or post-operative procedure. It is suitable for acute ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, stable lower leg, foot and ankle fractures, as well as post-operative use. This boot has a universal fit for both left and right feet.

Features:

  • The plastic molded uprights with steel reinforcement provide enhanced durability.
  • The shock-absorbing insole reduces the impact of heel strike while walking.
  • The rocker sole promotes a natural gait, allowing you to continue with your daily activities.
  • It is recommended for individuals weighing up to 300 pounds.

Proper Sizing:

Choosing the correct size is crucial for the boot to function properly. You can use the foot length as described in the size chart for a more precise fit. If you are nearing the maximum size and any of the following factors apply to you, consider opting for a larger boot:

  • You wear wide shoes.
  • You will be using bandages or wearing thick socks.
  • You have swelling.
  • You prefer a looser fit.

On the other hand, if you are nearing the minimum size and any of the following factors apply to you, consider choosing a smaller boot:

  • You wear narrow shoes or have slim feet.
  • You prefer a tighter fit.

Determining Fit:

Refer to the size chart and the fit guide provided in the images and video for a proper application and fit demonstration.

Step 1: Prepare the Boot

  • Open all the straps and take the liner out of the boot.
  • Place your foot in the liner, ensuring that your heel slides to the back of the liner.
  • For a proper fit, completely remove the top strap.
  • Additional comfort pads are provided to fill gaps in the liner and provide additional padding where needed.

Step 2: Close the Liner

  • Close the liner starting at your toes.
  • Make sure the liner fits snugly around your foot and leg.

Step 3: Insert Your Foot

  • Place your foot with the liner inside the boot, ensuring that your heel is pushed all the way to the back of the boot.
  • Attach and fasten the top strap once your foot is in the proper position.

Step 4: Fasten the Straps

  • Fasten the straps starting at the toes and working your way up.
  • Note that your toes may extend past the end of the liner. If your toes extend past the rigid shell, you need a larger size. Ensure your heel is properly positioned at the back of the boot.
  • If you experience numbness, tingling, or other discomfort, loosen the strap until comfortable. If these symptoms persist, contact your medical professional.

Step 5: Inflate the Boot

  • To inflate, turn the "inflate/deflate" knob clockwise until it stops turning.
  • Press and release the blue air bulb several times until the air liner provides the desired support.
  • Please note that the liner may expand during initial use, and you may need to pump additional times to return to the desired support.

Step 6: Deflate the Boot

  • To deflate, turn the "inflate/deflate" knob counterclockwise until it stops turning.
  • If the air liner is fully deflated, it may take upwards of 50 pumps to feel the desired support.
