Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot Product Description

The Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot by United Ortho is designed to provide maximum stability and support during injury recovery or post-operative procedures. This versatile boot is suitable for acute ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, stable lower leg, foot, and ankle fractures, as well as post-operative use. It can be used on either the left or right foot due to its universal fit.

Features:

  • The boot features plastic molded uprights with steel reinforcement, ensuring durability and longevity.
  • An insole with shock-absorbing properties reduces the impact of heel strike during walking.
  • The rocker sole assists in promoting a natural gait, allowing users to continue their daily activities without interruption.
  • The recommended weight limit for optimal performance is up to 300 pounds.

Proper Sizing:

Proper sizing and application are crucial for the effective functioning of the brace. To ensure a precise fit, refer to the foot length measurements provided in the size chart. Consider a larger boot if you fall near the maximum size and meet any of the following criteria: - You wear wide shoes. - You will be using bandages or wearing thick socks. - You have swelling. - You prefer a looser fit.

Alternatively, consider a smaller boot if you are close to the minimum size and meet any of the following criteria: - You wear narrow shoes or have slim feet. - You prefer a tighter fit.

Determining Fit:

To determine the proper fit of the boot, refer to the size chart and fit guide provided in the images and videos. These resources will demonstrate the correct application and fit.

Application Steps:

Step 1: Open all straps and remove the liner from the boot. Place your foot in the liner, ensuring that your heel is at the back of the liner. For a proper fit, fully remove the top strap. Additional comfort pads are provided to fill any gaps in the liner and provide extra padding where needed.

Step 2: Close the liner, starting at your toes. Ensure that the liner fits snugly around your foot and leg.

Step 3: Place your foot, with the liner, inside the boot, pushing your heel all the way to the back. Once your foot is in the correct position, attach and fasten the top strap.

Step 4: Fasten the remaining straps, starting from the toes and working your way up. It is normal for your toes to extend slightly beyond the end of the liner. However, if your toes extend beyond the rigid shell, you may need a larger size. Ensure that your heel is properly positioned at the back of the boot. If you experience numbness, tingling, or discomfort, loosen the strap until you feel comfortable. If these symptoms persist, consult a medical professional.

Step 5: To inflate the boot, turn the "inflate/deflate" knob clockwise until it stops turning. Press and release the blue air bulb multiple times until the air liner provides the desired level of support. The liner may expand during initial use, so additional pumps may be required to return it to the desired support level.

Step 6: To deflate the boot, turn the "inflate/deflate" knob counterclockwise until it stops turning. If the air liner is fully deflated, it may take up to 50 pumps to regain the desired level of support.
